To Begin Care
You’ve called the siblings group chat. You’ve called two or three agencies. You’ve Googled “how do I know when it’s time” more times than you’d like to admit.
You’ve lived through:
A caregiver who didn't show up — and nobody called to tell you
An agency that sounded great on the phone, then sent a different person every week
A hospital discharge with a stack of instructions and zero follow-up
A 3 AM phone call about a fall you'd been afraid of for months
The quiet guilt of resenting how much of your life this has taken
You’re not looking for “a service.” You’re looking for someone who finally understands what this actually feels like and knows, clinically and personally, how to fix it.
That’s why Comfi-Kare exists.
Most home care agencies are run by business operators. Comfi-Kare is a Maryland home care agency run by a registered nurse with more than 25 years on hospital floors, in specialty units, and beside families during their hardest moments.
Founder & Clinical Lead: Magna Johnston, MSN, CMSRN, CSA
When you call Comfi-Kare, your care plan is reviewed by an RN. Your caregiver is matched, trained, and supervised by an RN. And when something changes — a new medication, a new diagnosis, a hospitalization — an RN is the one helping you adjust the plan.
You shouldn’t need a clinical background to navigate your parent’s care. Comfi-Kare makes sure you don’t.
Master of Science in Nursing. Advanced clinical training.
Certified Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse. The gold standard for managing complex, multi-condition patients.
Certified Senior Advisor. Trained in the legal, financial, and emotional realities older adults face.
“I built Comfi-Kare so that no Maryland family ever has to figure this out alone again.”

Includes a home safety review for bathroom and bedroom
Personality and gender preferences honored where possible
With weekly RN check-ins for the first month
Most home care agencies in Maryland hire fast and train minimally. We hire slowly and train deeply.
| Standard Agency Caregiver | White Glove Caregiver |
|---|---|
| Basic background check | Multi-layer screening + reference verification |
| Limited skills training | Soft-skills, communication, and emotional intelligence training |
| Generic senior care orientation | Senior-specific care, dementia awareness, fall prevention |
| Unclear standards | Documented professionalism standards |
| Hired in days | Hired through a vetted, structured pipeline |
| No ongoing oversight | RN supervision and ongoing performance review |
The result: caregivers who don’t just complete tasks — they read the room, communicate clearly with your family, and treat your parent the way they’d treat their own.
Caregiver quality isn’t an accident. It’s an operations problem, and most home care agencies in Maryland don’t have a real solution.
Comfi-Kare runs on CareOps HQ, our proprietary recruiting, training, and quality-management platform. It’s how we keep our home care in Maryland consistent, vetting candidates faster, training them more thoroughly, and holding them accountable in ways traditional agencies simply can’t.
Every caregiver's training, certifications, and performance history is tracked in one system.
Communication, empathy, and professionalism are measured, not assumed.
The right caregiver for your parent's actual personality and needs.
The relationship doesn't end at hiring.
We don’t try to be everything. We focus our home care services in Maryland on the situations where nurse-led oversight makes the biggest difference.
Everyday personal care with bathing, grooming, mobility, and medication reminders.
Friendly conversation, activities, and companion care at home to ease loneliness.
Round-the-clock caregiving for safety and peace of mind, day and night.
Compassionate hospice home care focused on comfort and dignity.

In-home support tailored to the daily needs of those living with Parkinson's.
Stroke recovery care at home to help survivors regain independence.
Safe, guided recovery at home after a hospital stay.
Patient, specialized dementia care at home for those living with memory loss.
We don’t say this to scare you. We say it because we’ve watched it happen, and we’d rather have an honest conversation now.
1 in 4 adults over 65 falls every year. The majority happen at home, and most are preventable with the right support.
Cognitive decline accelerates in isolation. Loneliness is a clinical risk factor, not a soft one.
Family caregiver burnout is its own medical event. Adult children caring for aging parents have measurably higher rates of depression, illness, and missed work.
Roughly 1 in 5 seniors is readmitted to the hospital within 30 days of discharge — usually for something a trained caregiver and an RN would have caught early.
The hardest call we get is the one that comes the day after the fall, when families wish they’d called a week earlier.
You don’t have to wait for a crisis to start.

Most Comfi-Kare clients begin care within 24 to 48 hours of their free nurse-led assessment. Urgent post-hospital situations can often start the same day.
Non-medical home care, which is what Comfi-Kare provides, covers daily living support: bathing, dressing, meals, mobility, companionship, medication reminders, and transportation. Home health care is short-term skilled medical care ordered by a physician. Comfi-Kare’s nurse-led model means you get clinical oversight even within non-medical care.

Home care assistance covers non-medical support with everyday living: personal care such as bathing and dressing, meal preparation, medication reminders, mobility help, companionship, and transportation. At Comfi-Kare, every plan is built and supervised by a registered nurse.
Comfi-Kare provides personal home care, companion care at home, 24-hour and live-in care, post-hospital home care, dementia and memory care, Parkinson’s care, stroke recovery care, and hospice home care support — all delivered under RN oversight.
Look for an agency that employs its caregivers as W-2 staff, screens and trains them thoroughly, and provides clinical oversight of your care plan. Ask who supervises the caregiver, how quickly care can start, and how the agency handles changes in your loved one’s condition.
You don’t need to have it all figured out. You just need to make one phone call. A registered nurse will visit. We’ll assess what your parent actually needs. And we’ll have a plan in your hands — usually within 48 hours.
