You’re Not Looking for an Agency. You’re Looking for an Answer.

If you’ve landed on this page, something has shifted at home.

Maybe Mom isn’t safe alone anymore. Maybe Dad came home from Shady Grove or Suburban Hospital with a stack of discharge paperwork that reads like a foreign language. Maybe you’re a daughter in Bethesda, a son in Frederick, or a spouse in Potomac — quietly carrying a weight you didn’t expect to carry this year.

You’ve read the same five sentences on a dozen agency websites. They all sound the same. And underneath all of it is the question you keep coming back to at midnight:

“Who can I actually trust with my parent?”

That question is why Comfi-Kare exists. And the rest of this page is our honest answer.

Meet Your Guide

Comfi-Kare is run by a nurse who built the business.

You don’t need another sales pitch. You need someone who has stood in the same hospital corridors you’re walking now — and who knows what happens next.

Comfi-Kare is led by Magna Johnston, MSN, CMSRN, CSA — a Registered Nurse with nearly three decades of bedside, hospice, and home care experience. Most home care agencies are run by businesspeople who hire nurses.

That difference shows up in everything we do — from how we screen caregivers, to how we write care plans, to who picks up the phone when something feels off at 9pm on a Sunday.

Why Comfi-Kare Exists

For years, Magna stood at hospital discharge desks and watched the same scene repeat itself.

A frail patient handed a stack of paperwork. A daughter trying to memorize medication schedules on her phone. A son in the hallway, on the phone with his boss, trying to figure out who would actually be at the house when Mom got home.

Families were sent home with instructions — but with no one trained to actually carry them out.

Then they’d come back. Sometimes within weeks, sometimes within days. A fall. A missed dose. A wound that wasn’t watched. A medication interaction nobody flagged. Not because the family didn’t care — they cared more than anyone — but because the system had handed them an impossible job and called it discharge.

Comfi-Kare exists to close that gap.

We are the people who show up after the hospital sends your loved one home. We are the trained eyes that catch the early signs. We are the calm voice on the phone when something doesn’t feel right.

And because Magna built this agency from a clinical lens, every care plan is reviewed with the question a nurse asks first:

“What could go wrong, and how do we prevent it?”

That single question changes everything about how care gets delivered.

What Makes Us Different

Two things separate us from the franchises you’ve already read about.

The White Glove Caregiver Program™

Most agencies vet caregivers for the bare minimum: a background check and a pulse. We don’t think that’s good enough for your father.

Every Comfi-Kare caregiver completes our proprietary White Glove training, which goes beyond clinical basics into the things that actually matter at the kitchen table:

A White Glove caregiver doesn’t just complete tasks. They notice. They report. They communicate. They treat your parent the way they’d want their own parent treated.

CareOps HQ

The Technology Behind Our Care

Behind every White Glove caregiver is a technology platform you’ll never see, but you will feel its effects.

CareOpsHQ is our proprietary recruiting, training, and quality-management system. It’s how we screen, train, and continuously evaluate every caregiver in our pool. It’s how we match the right person to the right home. It’s how we hold our team to a standard most agencies can’t operationally enforce.

It is, quite literally, the engine that makes White Glove possible at scale, and it’s the reason a small, intentional agency like Comfi-Kare can deliver consistency you’d expect from a much larger one.

Our 3-Step Care Process

Most families we talk to are exhausted. The last thing you need is a complicated intake process.

Schedule a Free Nurse-Led Assessment

Magna or one of our RNs comes to your home, listens to your situation, and gives you honest answers — even if we’re not the right fit. This is not a sales call.

Meet Your Matched Caregiver

We match using both clinical needs and personality fit. You meet your caregiver before care officially begins.

Care Begins in 24-48 Hours

Most families are up and running within two days of the assessment. No long onboarding, no contracts you can’t get out of.

What’s at Stake When Families Wait

We say this gently, but we have to say it clearly:

waiting is rarely free.

Every week without proper support, the families we talk to describe the same things:

Home care isn’t only about tasks. It’s about catching the small problems before they become hospital admissions — and protecting the family from the kind of caregiver burnout that fractures relationships and health.

What “Working” Looks Like

Here is what families tell us, a few weeks in.

They sleep through the night again. The frantic phone calls from the hospital stop. Mom is laughing at something on the TV. Dad has someone to walk with. The daughter who hadn’t sat down in months is, for the first time in a long time, just being a daughter again — not a case manager, not a scheduler, not a pharmacist, not the one holding everything up.

That is the actual product we sell. Everything else is logistics.
